Township board declares state of emergency

FLUSHING TWP. — The Flushing Township Board of Trustees has ratified a state of emergency for the township.

The declaration authorizes the township supervisor, clerk and treasurer to make certain decisions that otherwise would require a vote of the Board of Trustees.

The allowable actions the board officers may take include payment of bills and other general business to keep the township running, according to Supervisor Frederick R. Thorsby.

The decision coincides with states of emergency already issued at the federal, state and county levels. — L.R.
