Township hires assistant controller

FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Board of Trustees Monday approved the hiring of an assistant controller.

Kevin McIntire will begin his duties Aug. 19 at a salary of $50,000. His salary will increase to $53,000 once McIntire completes his 90-day probationary period. The board previously approved creation of the assistant controller position so an individual could be hired and trained by Controller Beth Takacs in anticipation of her eventual retirement.

McIntire is currently employed as deputy treasurer for Independence Township and has been in that position since January 2014. He previously was assistant controller at Lynn Medical for 14 years.

The board approved hiring Demitra Manutes- Pyle for a clerical III position in the Treasurer’s Department, to replace an employee who resigned. She was previously employed as treasurer for the Village of Gaines. She began her new duties Tuesday and will be a probationary employee for the first 120 days.
