The Flushing Township Board of Trustees paid tribute to longtime former Planning Commission members Ronald Flowers and Gerald Doyle at the July 8 board meeting. Flowers (right), pictured alongside Flushing Township Supervisor Fred Thorsby (left), served on the Planning Commission from 1978 to Dec. 31, 2020, and was also a longtime Flushing Township trustee. Thorsby commended Flowers for being an asset to the Planning Commission by lending his expertise to the creation of a Master Plan for the township and giving input on revisions to the township’s codes and ordinances. Doyle, who was not in attendance, was also recognized for serving on the Planning Commission for over 40 years and helping to develop the township’s Master Plan and zoning ordinances.
