FLINT TWP. — Subject to state approval, the township board of trustees approved an agreement to transfer its lease obligations for the Michigan State Police Post to the Genesee County 911 Consortium.
Consortium purchased the property at 4481 Corunna Road on August 18, according to a lease assignment agreement unanimously approved by the township board at its Monday night meeting.
The agreement covers the township lease with G& K Associates and a sublease to the State of Michigan. The agreement states in part that the township assigns its lease, sublease, rents and other interests to the 911 Consortium and will be relieved of further responsibilities. The agreement requires the consent of the township board and the executive board of the 911 Consortium before it becomes effective.
“Essentially this takes us right out of the picture,’’ said Karyn Miller, township supervisor.
