The Police Department showed off its new military-grade Humvee during a recent township business expo. Valued at about $75,000, the four-wheel drive vehicle was obtained for free last fall through the U.S.

1033 Program. Township police spent about $10,000 in drug forfeiture funds to paint and modify it to suit its use as a high-risk rescue vehicle, according to Police Chief
George Sippert. It is not used daily but is ready to go should the need arise.
