Track and field finishes in 5th place


GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Boys Track and Field Team finished in fifth place of seven teams at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational, April 15 at Carman-Ainsworth High School.

The meet was put on there by Davison High School, due to construction at their home site. This was the first meet for the young Bobcat team featuring many new freshman and sophomores.

Some team members who stood out were 400-meter winner Evan Jarrett (10th) winning the event in 55.39.

His teammate Ethan Pinhston took fifth place timing out at 58.22 seconds. Senior Amir Williams placed second in the 300m hurdles at 44.97 and won the 110H hurdles with a time of 16.49, followed closely by teammate DeAndre Westfall Barger in fifth place running 18.09.

Junior Jayden Lewiin placed second in the Discus with a throw of 118-02. Senior Lorenzo Wood took the fifth spot in the varsity 100 dash in 11.84 and Xavier Urquhart place in seventh at 12.45.

Relay members of the 4×800 GB team (J, Teeple, A. Dodd, E. Pinkston, R. Zannetti) ran to a fifth place finish of 9:21.26. The 4x200m relay team of (S.Allen, JW.Keel. ,A. Williams, L. Wood), took the third spot in a time of 1:38.12

The 4×100 meter relay team (Allen, Keel, Williams, D Westfall-Barger), ran 46.65 finishing second. The 4×400 relay team (Allen, ,Jarrett, N. Gillmore, D. Westfall-Barger), placed in third at 3:51.15

In the field events, Bobcats took two spots in the high jump with Daniel Liddell in third at 5-04.00 and Jakhari Brown in seventh jumping 5-00.00 (Brown, Urquhart, and Liddell) finished in fifth, seventh, and eighth in the long jump with respective leaps of 17-05.00, 17-00.50, and 16-02.00
