BURTON — An eight-hour job training program took place at Delta Tire, 3476 Saginaw St., G-3476 S. Saginaw St., on June 27-28.
Five individuals from across Flint attended the two-day training. The purpose of the program was to train individuals interested in automotive repair with the goal of getting the participants ready for jobs a tire technician.
The training program is a partnership between Flint Innovative Solutions and Delta Tire, while the Ruth Mott Foundation provided funding for the training program.
Burton City Councilman Greg Fenner connected Delta Tire to the group wanting to hold the training.
“As a Burton business owner and city councilman, I am proud to be involved in a program that gives people a chance to change their lives by improving their skill set,” said Fenner.
Kyle Krupa, owner of Delta Tire, opened his shop for the training activity
“We hope this program is successful and receives the spotlight it should receive, and it continues to grow so we can help advance the careers of these folks in the automotive industry,” said Krupa. — G.G.
