Trick-or-treat event at park to benefit Brewer cancer fund

GRAND BLANC — A “Not-So-Spooky” trick-or-treat event will take place Saturday, Oct. 24, at Physician’s Park in Grand Blanc.

Trick-or-treating will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m. Participants are asked to donate $3 at the gate to benefit the Kelley Brewer Cancer Fund. Brewer is a long-time Grand Blanc resident.

Participants will walk the trail and stop at booths for candy.

“We are putting safety measures in place, such as distancing the booths and tables, providing sanitizer and masks to people, and routinely sanitizing places throughout the event,” said event organizer Alexis LaDuke.

Several local businesses have agreed to sponsor the event and will provide candy and donations.

“People and families of all ages are encouraged to attend as they feel comfortable,” said LaDuke. “Our goal is to not only have our amazing community rally around a long-time member in a time of need, but to provide a fun experience for kids and families during these uncertain times.”

There also is a gofundme page set up for direct donations to the Kelley Brewer Cancer Fund. — L.R.
