SWARTZ CREEK — Swartz Creek area residents are reminded that Miller Road from Morrish Road to Hayes Street will be closed at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, for the Jeepers Creekers trunk-or-treat.
The road, as well as Holland Drive, will remain closed until about 7:30 p.m. Holland Square will be closed all day.
This year, the family event will include a trunk-or-treat from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Balloon artist Magic Steve will be on hand to create some amazing balloon sculptures. And the Swartz Creek Area Firefighters will have a Halloween-themed, family-friendly movie in Holland Square at the conclusion of trunk-or-treating.
Don’t forget to stop by the Swartz Creek Area Art Guild Gallery to check out their Sci-Fi and Fantasy exhibit. Guild artists also will be handing out candy from the gallery in the plaza downtown.
The committee also will have a selfie station to capture your memories. If you post pictures on social media, please use #jeeperscreekers.
There will not be a bounce house or vendors this year.
The committee is asking everyone to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines out of an abundance of caution.
There is a lot going on in Swartz Creek on Saturday, so drivers are asked to be extra careful getting around the downtown area.
Jeepers Creekers will continue with some grown up fun on Saturday, Oct. 24, when the 2nd annual Costumed Bar Crawl takes place.
Join the fun with food and drink specials, giveaways and prizes from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Participating venues this year include the new Hank & Don’s, Jan’s Bar, the Swartz Creek VFW, Swartz Creek American Legion and Barley & Vine.
