Twp. board green lights C-A homecoming parade

FLINT TWP. — Carman-Ainsworth Homecoming Week event scheduling will be slightly different this year but still includes a parade, football game and dance.

Last week, the Flint Township Board passed a resolution consenting to use of public roads for the parade from 4:15 to 530 p.m. on Friday, October 7. Final approval is granted by the Genesee County Road Commission. Same as in previous years, the parade route will start on Van Slyke Road at South Baptist Church and proceed south to Maple Road, turning left for the last leg that ends at C-A Middle School.

In past years, the Homecoming Game was held on Friday after the parade at the middle school where the stadium is located. This year, the game time has been moved to noon on Saturday, October 8, when the Cavaliers will play Saginaw Heritage.

The Homecoming Dance also is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m. It is held at the high school.

A variety of other “spirit” events held during Homecoming Week will be announced later.
