FLINT TWP. — The township board is not in favor of a tavern license requested by the Great Lakes Sandwich Company on Corunna Road and unanimously rejected it. Trustees Barb Vert and George Menoutes were absent.
The decision was based on a recommendation from the police department to deny the request.
“I have a list here of multiple violations of the tavern business … connected with the business over a period of two years,’’ said Trustee Frank Kasle.
Township Supervisor Karyn MIller said the Michigan Liquor Control Commission asked the board to approve or deny it.
The MLCC seeks input from from local governments and police agencies when making decisions on applications for licenses and permits.
State records as of April 2 show only one available on-premise license in Genesee County of the 21 authorized.
