UM, OSU rivalry is one sided

Fat Guy Corner

The Michigan Wolverines were embarrassed by the Ohio State Buckeyes 56-27 Saturday. Yes, an embarrassing blowout for the second straight year, making it 15 losses in the last 16 tries against OSU. The rivalry is so one-sided it’s laughable! The facts are the facts and the Buckeyes say to Michigan, “call me Daddy!” That’s the Pedro Martinez line when he was a Red Sox pitcher about the New York Yankees.

The talent level at Ohio State is substantially better than at Michigan and it shows on the football field. What separates OSU from U of M is the OSU kids make plays and don’t commit stupid penalties like the Wolverines. The number of dropped footballs the Michigan receivers had alone was sickening. A critical off-sides on the punt play by Michigan turned the game totally around in Ohio State’s favor. The defense once again stunk and was embarrassing by the players and Don Brown, the defensive coordinator.

J.K. Dobbins runs for four touchdowns and 211 yards. The loss also means Coach Jim Harbaugh drops to 0-5 against OSU. That is so irritating to the Michigan fan base to no end, I am sure! The fact that in the press conference Jimmy didn’t want to be “insulted” with a question I found curious. He has insulted fans by getting smoked in THE GAME the last two years! Jim Harbaugh is so overpaid for the results he is producing at Michigan, if you ask me. The bottom line is, Michigan will go to a bowl game, while OSU goes to the College Football Playoffs. This was just another bust of a football season in Ann Arbor and a bowl loss will complete it! I’ll be interested to see where the Wolverines go.

More unappetizing football

The Michigan State Spartans defeat Maryland, barely, to finish 6-6 on the season. This will send the Spartans to a flea-bag bowl, which will cap the end to a lousy football season. The good thing is basketball season is here in East Lansing, Michigan. What happens to coach Mark Dantonio will be also on the agenda.

As for the basketball Spartans, they have a big match-up with Duke tonight (Tuesday). I will be watching intently!

I love the fact that these two teams play in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. I think it’s a good measuring stick for both basketball teams. The fact that both have Final Four aspirations adds to the intrigue of this hoop game. I like the Spartans to win tonight over Duke.

The Michigan basketball team has been college basketball’s surprise story so far in 2019. The unranked Michigan team won the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas defeating top-ten North Carolina and Gonzaga handily on the hardwood. The Wolverines and Coach Howard’s team, ranked No. 4, will take on No. 1-ranked Louisville tonight (Tuesday). If the Wolverines win this game, could it vault them to No. 1 in the country? I think so! I like the Wolverines to win! I love college hoops! It’s much better when MSU and U of M are ranked at the top, to be honest!

Lions continue to lick wounds

The Lions played hard on Thanksgiving with the third-string quarterback, David Blough, under center. I thought he played well, actually! The defense was pitiful under defensive guru head coach Matt Patricia. Darn joke of a performance once again by the Lions’ defense. The fact he is still a head coach in Detroit shows how much ineptness is in Detroit! Enough on these losing clowns! The Josh Shaw NFL gambling story is right up there with these clowns. What is this guy doing betting a threeteam parlay and thinking he would not get caught? One of the plays was involving a team he plays for! Mr. Shaw, you are an IDIOT!
