Volleyball

At the Saline Invitational last Saturday, the Cavs finished as runnerups in the silver division. In pool play, Carman defeated Bay City Central, 25- 22, 25-12, split with Pinckney, 25-17, 19-25, and lost to overall tournament winner White Lake Lakeland, 13-25, 11-25.

In the silver quarterfinals, Carman beat Ann Arbor Skyline, 25-20, 25-19, and then defeated Davison in the semifinals, 25-17, 27-25. In the silver division finals, the Cavs fell short to Flat Rock, 24-26, 25-20, 7-15.

Kamrin Gold led the way with 57 kills, 33 assists and 48 digs, while Re’Onna Harris added 20 kills. Danielle McClung had 49 assists and nine aces and Miya Ingram chipped in with 40 digs, 14 kills and eight aces.

The Cavailers fell to 1-2 in Big Nine action after losing to Davison last Thursday, 27-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-13. Kylie Schneider led the way for the Cavs with 14 digs, while Harris added five kills.

The Cardinals were led by Tricia Prince with 13 kills, 12 digs, seven aces and two blocks. Lynsey Fulton had 13 digs and nine kills and Ali Dowdall added 20 assists and 19 digs for Davison.

Carman, 10-14-3 overall, returns to action today when they host Flushing. — E.H.
