Voters decide on candidates for several State Representative seats

GENESEE COUNTY — Here is a list of the candidates in the various Michigan State House of Representatives races throughout Genesee County and how they did n the Aug. 3 primary election.

48th District (the cities of Clio, Montrose and Davison and the townships of Davison, Forest, Genesee, Montrose, Richfield, Thetford and Vienna)

DEM – Sheryl Kennedy, Davison, incumbent; received 10,824 votes, while challenger Andalib Odulate, also of Davison, earned 1,050 votes.

REP – David Martin of Davison defeated Sherri Cross, Flint, by a vote of 4,226-2,271.

Kennedy and Martin will face-off in the November general election.

50th District (the cities of Burton and Grand Blanc and the townships of Grand Blanc and Mundy)

DEM – Tim Sneller, Burton, incumbent; received 9,729 votes, while Raymond Freiberger, Burton, earned 2,609 votes.

REP — Christina Fitchett-Hickson, Burton, led the race with 2,445 votes. Candidate Lynne Freiberger, of Burton, received 2,192 votes; while Lynn Huckee, of Grand Blanc, took 1,573 votes.

Sneller will face Fitchett-Hickson Nov. 3 to retain his seat.

51st District (the cities of Fenton and Linden and the townships of Argentine, Atlas, Fenton, Flushing, Gaines, Groveland, Holly and Rose)

DEM – Brad May, of Fenton, beat Connor Wallace, of Flushing, 4,281-3,421, for the Democratic nomination. May will face incumbent Republican Mike Mueller, who was unopposed in the primary, in the Nov. 3 election.
