Warwick, McLaren host Pink Par-Tee to honor breast cancer survivors

GRAND BLANC — Breast Cancer survivors and their families were recently honored by McLaren and the Warwick Hills Women’s Association who hosted its annual signature event for charity, called the Pink Par-Tee, featuring a golf tournament, tennis tournament and silent auction at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club. This year, the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Flint is the beneficiary of all proceeds raised; the funds will go to a specialized patient fund for women who are fighting cancer to help with their daily needs as well as to fund specialized equipment at the cancer center.

Approximately 200 golfers, caddies and volunteers were all dressed in pink to support the cause. There was a special opening ceremony with all participants in pink forming a “human ribbon” to depict the symbol of breast cancer, and a closing ceremony featuring a live butterfly and dove release with music—a symbolic event to celebrate the lives of women who have passed away from breast cancer and to honor breast cancer survivors. — P.S.
