FLINT TWP. — Tuesday, September 8, is the first day of school for students in the Carman-Ainsworth School District.

Back-to-school information posted on the district’s web site includes start times, lunch prices, bus route information and the Open House schedule.

Lunch prices for the 2015-16 school year will be $2 for elementary school students and $2.45 for secondary students. A free breakfast will be available for all grades. Parents of students eligible for the free and reduced lunch program will fill out only one form for all their children this school year. Forms will be available at all schools, in the student handbooks and on the website. Questions can be directed to Jennifer Yee, Child Nutrition Director at 810-591-3220. Menus also are posted online.

As for bus schedules, parents and students are asked to allow a ten-minute window of time before and after the designated pick-up time during the first week of school. Students are asked to be at their designated bus stop at least 5-10 minutes prior to scheduled pick-up time. Questions should be directed to the resident school or the transportation office at 591-3470.

Open Houses begin next week with events at Rankin Elementary from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8 and at Dillon, Dye and Randels elementary schools from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10. The middle school Open House will be 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 17 and the high school Open House will be held 5:30 -7 p.m. Monday, September 21. — Rhonda Sanders
