FLINT – The Swartz Creek Area Chamber of Commerce and Financial Plus Credit Union will present the 14th annual Whatchamacallit fundraiser, food drive and networking event on Friday, Dec. 8.
“Whatchamacallit is a great way to get together, to network, have some fun and also support a great cause,” said Kali Varner, a chamber board member and ambassador. “The giveaways also make it a lot of fun.”
This year’s Whatchamacallit will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the credit union main office, G-3381 Van Slyke Road.
Proceeds from the benefit will support Old Newsboys of Flint in their goal to “Let No Child Be Forgotten” at Christmas.
Chamber board members are currently selling raffle tickets for gift baskets and other prizes. A $20 ticket not only gets donors two chances in the drawings, but also provides a happy holiday for a local child in need.
Additional opportunities to help the organization also will be available during the event, which includes a buffet breakfast, music and holiday photo opportunities.
In addition, visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
