Men at W.O.R.K. is a service group formed in 2000 by a group of young fathers who wanted to organized activities for their children.
William Newsom, a charter member, recalled when the group started at the former Woodland School where his son attended.
“We found ways to have activities for them so men could get with their kids and do things in the evening,” he said.
The group’s mission eventually expanded to include the entire family.
Speaking at last week’s township board meeting, Newsom encouraged parents and grandparents to bring their youngsters to the Winterfest event.
