FLINT TWP. — With Valentine’s Day around the corner, McCarty Library held a special Valentine’s Day event for area children. The event, which was the first one of its kind at the library, allowed children to make and decorate Valentine’s Day cards and also eat a special snack of cupcakes.

Branch Librarian Cara Birmingham said in total, 22 children and 10 adults stopped by the library for the event. “It was a good turnout,” she said.

The next event happening at McCarty Library is a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party at 1 p.m. March 5. Children are invited to come to the event where they can make a craft, have some fun and hear a story.

McCarty Library is located at 2071 S. Graham Rd. Details: Call 810-732-9150 or visit www.thegdl.org.
