YMCA of Greater Flint branches closed until April 6

FLINT — The YMCA of Greater Flint is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone who enters our Downtown and Pierson Road Branches.

In an abundance of precaution and following the mandate from Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s office to encourage social distancing to slow the spread of COVID- 19, we have closed our two branches and suspended all Y programs, workshops and events until April 6th. The reopening date is subject to change as the coronavirus impact continues to develop.

Additionally, YMCA Camp Copneconic will be closed until April 13th.

According to YMCA of Greater Flint CEO Shelly Hilton, “We will be diverting all available resources to help our community fight this outbreak. It’s important to make sure that all Flint families continue to receive the nutritious food they need.”

The YMCA will be providing dinner for anyone in need. Anyone can pick up dinner and a snack for a child and there is no need for the child to be present or proof of guardianship.
