DAVISON TWP. — When Sherri Ananich was laid-off from her job as an architect last year, she turned her efforts toward her love of painting.
Ananich’s oil paintings drew so much attention from those who followed her work she found she was able to sell and show her work.
Her paintings will be on display at the Yoga Path, 1086 N. Irish Rd., for the next month and will be for sale at an art and craft show at the shop Oct. 20 from 1- 6 p.m.
Painting, like yoga, has been one of Ananich’s hobbies, but one she decided to dedicate herself to.
“Painting was always something I thought I could do,” said Ananich. “It’s much like yoga, you go time out of mind.”
Maria Burnash, owner of Yoga Path, said she is pleased to be able to show Ananich’s work at her shop.
“Sherri is awesome,” said Burnash. “She takes the natural beauty of a nature scene. You can see movement in her paintings, even in the stillness of the picture.”
Burnash said the art and craft show will feature about six local crafters and those attending are asked to bring a canned food donation for Outreach East in Davison.
Ananich said she welcome commissioned works and urges anyone who would like to discuss a painting with her to e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
