Youth football league set to begin season

FLINT — The Carman-Ainsworth Youth Football and Cheerleading League is about to begin its season. First practices are Monday, Aug. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Carman-Ainsworth Middle School. The season starts Sept. 11 and runs through Oct. 23. The complete season schedule will be available two days before the first games in September through the Mid- Michigan Rural Football League.

Football offers three divisions with freshmen ages 8-9 weighing no more than 90 pounds, JV players ages 10-11 weight limit of 120 pounds and varsity for kids no more than 12- years old and 160 pounds. Six games will be played—three home, three away—at area schools. Games officiated by MHSAA-certified officials.

The cheerleading program provides three divisions with a freshmen ages 6-9, JV for 10- 11 year olds and varsity for girls no more than 12 years of age. Details: 810-591-7266 or email — L.P.
