GOODRICH — Resident and parent Ginny Yuschak is running for one of three open seats on the Goodrich Board of Education, Nov. 3.

Yuschak recently announced her candidacy for the Board of Education, joining two other candidates – Jeff Brown and Karl Schulte – in a bid for the three seats.

She said she has been a teacher for 16 years and holds an elementary teaching certificate and a master’s degree in Special Education.

Yuschak is married to husband Mark, a real estate broker and investor, and the couple has two children, ages 9 and 11. They live in Atlas Township and their children attend Goodrich schools.

She said she stays busy volunteering at Oaktree Elementary, coaching her son’s basketball team, helping with extracurriculars like Robotics and Run Club and getting the couple’s daughter to her figure skating practices and competitions.

Yuschak said she also enjoys reading, sewing, skiing and traveling.

“I hope to add positive change to our school board through trust from school staff, community members, and administration,” she said. “I hope to increase board transparency and approachability with more involved and better attended meetings and discussions. I am passionate about safe and well-rounded whole child education and am excited to watch and be involved in how our district evolves with its recently passed bond as of August 2020.”
