GRAND BLANC Though he has decades of experience in both family and integrative medicine, Dr. Michael Zielinski still knows what it feels like to be the new guy. Having recently moved his practice to Grand Blanc, Zielinski and the team at Integrative Family Medicine & Urgent Care opened their doors to the public on Monday, welcoming new patients and heralding their arrival in the community.
Zielinski, who has treated thousands of patients over the course of his career, says he is committed to providing the Grand Blanc area with a patient-centered practice. Integrative Family Medicine & Urgent Care remains dedicated to understanding the individual needs of each person they see. He explained that he and his team of healthcare professionals work very hard to make sure that each patient feels comfortable and secure in the fact that they can rely on Integrative Family Medicine & Urgent Care for preventative care and the treatment of injuries and illnesses.
“We work to determine the root cause of each of our patients’ health concerns, and then develop a therapeutic, individualized care plan using both conventional and holistic treatments,” explained Zielinski. “Using this approach, we have helped patients suffering from chronic issues, joint pain and countless other conditions.”
Zielinski began his career in Lapeer, working in the emergency room in the 1980s, eventually establishing a hugely successful family practice and urgent care that he later sold to Hurley Medical Center. After a brief period providing telehealth services to patients, Zielinski said he was ready to open a new practice closer to home – which led him to Grand Blanc.
“I kind of missed everybody, to be quite honest,” said Zielinski. “I missed the relationships that are formed with my patients and I decided to give up telehealth and come back. I hired back two of my previous staff members, so that’s been really nice for our team and our returning patients.”
With his partner, Steve Galliway, a certified physician assistant and Grand Blanc native, Zielinski says that Integrative Family Medicine & Urgent Care utilizes a comprehensive approach to medical care, employing a combination of treatments to maximize patient benefits. Zielinski and his team of practitioners understand the role that nutrients, supplements, mind-body techniques, and lifestyle approaches can play in the optimization of one’s health.
“That’s why Steve and I partnered up,” said Zielinski. “We have very similar philosophies when it comes to treatment, where we prefer to use natural, holistic approaches instead of just automatically throwing prescriptions at the issue. We’ve always made sure our patients’ needs are our first priority, and I think that’s why Steve and the team and I have always been successful, because that’s how we’ve always done things. It’s certainly worked for me over the past 27 years.”
Along with their comprehensive services and treatment options, Integrative Family Medicine & Urgent Care have also incorporated the latest diagnostic tests and approaches to identifying and treating COVID-19, including rapid tests and vaccine options.
